If you ever so much as say one defamatory word against a sultan or anyone of high authority, you will suffer dire consequences even if it is the truth. No one dares to speak up and stand up for one's thoughts in this country Malaysia especially with all the political turmoil making it much worse. Well, we can only state such thoughts through the online system and yet risk getting prosecuted if caught. What, protest openly and to what avail? This isn't US of A where one can simply sue including the government, heck sue whatever they stand up for and might actually change something.
Another issue of blocking the progress of freedom in this case is corruption. No matter how right one might be, corruption shuts it all. What, prosecute a judge for corruption and put it on the headlines like China? No, what we do here is in fact take part in that corruption. I am not saying everyone does it but this is practically the typical Malaysians' thinking.
"Oh man...I got caught for speeding. How much you want? Mari, mari saya belanja".
Not trying to sound off as cynical but this "tak apa" attitude is sadly vast among the Malaysians. Unless it is religious. Such recent incidents such as the destruction of several churches and throwing boars' heads over to the mosques just shows how thin our unity is..or at least appears to be. Whoever did this must be insane or did this in hopes to create a racial and religious tension which could happen all over again. Heck, it had happened before, why can't it now?
Even many of our politicians are racists:-
A leader is what makes a nation.
We are doomed.
Najib admist the chaos stood calmly and spewed out rational and thoughtful speeches. Najib...of all...
Has Malaysia gone crazy? It seems to be on the brink of collapsing..at least economically, said Anwar in one of his opinions ""Muslims Have No Monopoly over Allah".
I soooo do not look forward to year 2020. Will it ever come? Worse than expected, maybe.

Avatar Break
Here I am blogging from the office..trying desperately not to get caught.
Okay..maybe not. It's lunch break :p I am entitled to take a break and that includes blogging.
So it has been a really busy week, correction busy weeks. My cousin has a birthday party coming this week. And you wonder why I have to start earning. With all the birthdays coming up, it's a miracle I am still rich. Ok maybe not. Just wishful thinking but rich enough to save my ass from dying of hunger everyday.
I have seen Avatar last week in 3D form and I must say, I am both disappointed and elated at the same time. Weird? Weird.
What I am disappointed in is that the 3D form is not very impressive and inconsistent. One minute it was "Oh wow, I feel like I am part of the movie!" and the next you feel like "It's freaking paper".
The storyline is nothing unusual and standout but... There is always a BUT.
Something about it is so emotional and heart wrenching that I loved it! Yeah, yeah, says the over-emotional blogger. But it's true anyway. Go watch it for yourself.
It's like a futuristic ideology where one plays with the idea of living as your avatar. Avatar such as your alter ego in games. Wouldn't that be cool. Except that I won't want to end up as the main character in Resident Evil being eaten alive. Heck, if both lives are merged together, there is no escape, you only have one live not two. Ha! Die sucker.
I MUST get that Avatar theme song. There is something thrilling and majestic about it. In fact, in all inspirational movies, their songs are inspirational. Good for listening when you had a bad day or feel like a couch potato and there is no coffee available.
One thing I observed about Avatar though is that those blue aliens looked like Mystique from X-Men with a combination of Sakai features. Back to work!

The Truth Is..
Men and women can never be equal. I say that in various terms of definition and characteristics. Take for example, I tend to relax when hanging out with guys more. Why? Because I am a tomboy? The answer is not necessarily. You see, when hanging out with girls, they usually focus more on looks. Image, beauty. Oh mirror mirror, am I pretty?
They will be super observant when it comes to their friends' looks besides their own. Like "Hey, nice haircut." or "Is that a new handbag?" Blah blah. Of course, not saying that this is a bad thing but people tend to be more self conscious about their own looks if hanging out with the generic definition of female. You won't want to look like you just woke up of bed when you meet them because they will be like "Oh Mi GOSH *dramatic tone* What happened to your hair?!"
I am not saying all female are like that (which explains the generic statement) but this is when the issue comes in. If you are not typically female, you are considered a tomboy. And if you are a guy with a bit of feminine touch, they will either think you are gay or a transsexual. I mean, how to be equal with already such prejudiced culture?
This is not an anti-feminism post, no. However, I am saying that we will most likely never be truly equal in several ways.
Which leads to another issue about those shallow comments. Don't you just hate it when people judge a book by its cover? The funny and personal thing is I hate shallow people but sometimes I can be quite shallow as well. This is one reason why we can never find a soulmate which is the exact similar as oneself. We technically repel one another. In mannerism and all.
Anyway newsflash about me: I am starting work soon! :)
Happy New Year everyone!!!

Drifts, Trips, Rifts.
So much happened over the past few weeks. I came back from Egypt, got an internship related to my course not to mention a lot of shit happening. By shit, I meant the amount of failures and successes in my family. However, it is about my relatives so I will not say anymore about this even though I strongly feel like I want to punch and splash red paint on someone.
So let's talk about the happy things instead. The Egypt trip!
I admired the ancient Egyptians on how they used to be so advanced at that very time. The umbrella, slippers, clothing and many other stuff was first thought of by the Pharaohs there. Too bad taking pictures are not allowed in the museum.
However all the pyramids are empty as all of them are robbed. I was disappointed by that fact in which I had hoped to see it as it were before..in all its former glory.
The present Egypt however, was depressing not to mention I was disgusted by them. Rubbish was thrown all over the city and the service was bad. And I thought Malaysian service was bad enough. At least they bothered to smile when providing a service even though it was fake.
Imagine seeing Micheal Jackson's real hat in Egypt too (in Hard Rock Cafe)! One wonders where else did he go too when he was still alive.
I can hardly wait to hear his latest song, This Is It.
God rest his soul. Oh and Merry Christmas everyone! :)

World's Greatest Timing
Time for a joke. My maid ran away.
Oh wait, it actually happened.
We made a police report blah blah the usual procedures but I am sure I won't see her sorry ass anymore.
Not that I am sorry.
Denny Crane.
No idea what I'm talking about? Watch this : Denny Crane
Yeah, it's Boston Legal TV series. Funniest series ever. You should watch it. Unless you have something against the law.
So, I am supposed to be leaving for Egypt today. How does one describe the feeling of excitement and irritation mixed up together?
That's what I am feeling about going to Egypt now. Yup. I seem to have forgotten something which is thus my irritation but I can't seem to figure out what that is. Oh wait, maybe I do remember but I do not want to.
It's this: Why does every time I am about to go away elsewhere then only all the invitations to go out with my friends turned up more frequent than ever??....And then I had to turn them down because I won't have enough time to pack and get ready for the trips. World peace. World's greatest timing.
Denny Crane.
Egoistical s.o.b.
That's why I like the series.
I saw the Bee yesterday. She looked as pretty as ever...holding kids. Okkk...but last I remember, she was only one year older than me. I might be missing something but I'm gonna blame it on my trips and excellent timing for having absolutely no idea whats going on in my friends' lives.

Maid's A Victim. What A Joke.
Maids are victims? You got to be kidding.
That's right. Whatever blatant bullshit they throw at you in defense of maids getting abused, you have yet to see it from the other side of the story.
For example this very personal experience I am encountering now, we have treated this maid nothing better than fair, we did not force her to do too much work, have a suitable timetable and all and guess what did we get in return?
She is no-fucking-where to be seen!
After my dad smsed her, she said she's stuck in traffic and will be back soon. E-excuse me?! This lame excuse is old and used so many times that even oxymorons will know its fake. Traffic jam for more than 6 hours and counting? Where did she go to?! Alaska to catch fish?
And brace for the next thing...
She's Filipino! Yes...not only Indonesian maids have crazy incidents. Even Filipino maids have shitass attitude especially when they're always yakking on the phone while doing their job. SEE?! This is lenient...allowing them to yak on the phone. And they said we Malaysian abuse maids.
Do you think we pay them so they can disappear on us and show us attitude? Moreover with the ever increasing inflation on their wages, it is really more unpleasant for us employers to even hire them. WE DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE.
Every time I see my parents worrying when she will be back, it makes me sick to the core. And the maid doesn't even feel the remotest guilt about it. I have hinted to them many times to sack her but we do not have a choice as there is a fucking contract.
Maids are victims? It's no black and white matter.
I made a bet with my mother whether she will be back by the time we went back which is almost 3.30pm. And sad to say, I was right. That sonovabitch has yet to return.
If it was up to me I would've sacked her. Hopefully we won't have to lodge a police report but that was what we said as an ultimatum.

I'm A Rebel, World.
This world is born a rebel.
I just can't understand it. Why does people have to do the exact opposite of what they're told or what they know will most likely befall them?
Take the recent drowning cases for example. There has been many people drowning by swimming in rivers recently yet people keep doing that.
Death of 3 UTAR Students
Some people might say that if we are so paranoid of what tragedy to happen to us then we might never get anything done. However, there IS a difference between being paranoid and plain sensible. As for the news regarding the "Mountain God" punishing those students, the hilarious thought of it is no where even near its superstition. Mountain God. Haha. What next? The monkey king coming out to save them?
Take this image I found from the internet for example. Either the person is Malay illiterate or that person thinks doing this is really funny. The EXACT total opposite of what the sign asked.
Hmmm..when will we finally learn? After encountering some tragedy?
Yet, some people have experienced such tragedy and still not regret what they did or merely forget about the lesson over a period of time. My, my such rebels.
I won't be surprised if our attitudes doomed us one day. THEN we might learn.
By the way, I took a snapshot of a one-legged monkey swinging outside my house one day. I didn't notice it was missing one leg until it started limping.
Ew. Sad :/
Another thing I thought was really unfair and cynical of the world is that people kept waiting for Obama to make a slip and if he does, I bet they will make sure he fall down hard.
Come on...give him a break! I know his speeches were the cause of such high expectations of him but a person can only do so much at a given time with vultures hovering around him. And if he does fall, what? What next? Are you people happy now? We'll see who be laughing now and I bet it won't be you US citizens because your future lies in his hands. Political rivals? Probably the only ones who will be laughing.
While he is out there making a change, we are in here sitting on our fat laurels laughing at him. Wtf. Once again, the exact opposite.
It's a shame we don't have anyone like Obama in our country. Nooo...we're too busy squabbling and plotting against one another to actually do any good to the country. Pak Lah tried and failed miserably. There are even some rumors of him being corrupt. I would not justify nor would I deny this statement but it is inevitable that every politicians have to be even slightly corrupted to be able to withstand against others in politics. Unless you are given total power and that wouldn't work in a democratic country like Malaysia. It would be catastrophic to give a huge amount of power to the wrong hands too. Like the Bushman.
